Fishing Competition Rules

1. Start times are official although you can start later than times stated if you have prior commitments, but you must not start sooner. Normally 0800.
2. Finishing times are official and must be adhered to, normally 1500, weigh in 1600
3. Scales will be open for 1 hour after competition ends or until all anglers entered have weighed in
4. All fish reported or returned to scales must be to minimum size limits
5. No anglers (or fish) will be accepted at scales unless they have reported to secretary as fishing the competition prior to start time
6. All boats entering the competition must fish within the 12-mile limit for club records, records and diary of each competition will be kept for viewing on this website
7. Any boat wishing to moor on the hammer head prior to competition start must contact Stores Officer
8. All Fish over the minimum size can be entered in the competition with a limit of 2 fish per angler counted. Conger Eels not included. Bass only landed when ban lifted (see fishing website News)
9. There shall be a limit of 2 Rods 6 hooks at any one time per competitor with the exception of a set of feathers on a separate rod for catching fresh bait when the opportunity arises.

League table will be points as follows:

  • 1 point for signing on
  • All fish caught as non species of the day shall not be measured, but will be taken of the minimum size limit of cm . e.g dogfish minimum size 46cm= 46 points. Only species of the day will be measured.
  • 1 point for every CM of specimen fish of the day, multiplied by a multiplier factor given on the competition form. These are; Bass x 2, Bream x 3, Cod x 2, Dogfish x2, Flounder x 3,
  • Plaice x3, Skates and Rays x 2, Smooth hound x 2, Sole x3, Whiting x 3 All Recorded in conjunction with size chart provided.
10. ECSC fishing competitions run from October to September to tie in with the annual prize giving
